HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2017-104 - Modify Select Electric Fees RESOLUTION NO. 2017-104 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING ELIMINATING AND MODIFYING SELECT FEES RELATED TO CONNECTIONS FOR ELECTRIC CUSTOMERS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF REDDING EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 6,2017 WHEREAS: A. City Council Policy 802 provides that the City Council may review fee adjustments based upon need; and B. For the reasons set out in the Report to Council, it has been recommended that the City Council eliminate and modify select fees related to connections; and C. The City Council has carefully considered this recommendation; and deems it to be in the best interests of the City of Redding to eliminate the fees NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding as follows: 1. Council hereby eliminates the Service Reconnection Fee, the Service Reconnection Fee after 4:00 p.m., the Service Transfer Fee, and the Priority Service Connection after 4:00 p.m., effective December 6, 2017; and 2. Council hereby modifies the Priority Service Connection Fee to Priority Service Connection Fee after 11:00 a.m.; and 3. That the cost of these changes will remove a significant hurdle for the low-income community when attempting to reconnect and is in the best interest of the community at large; and 4. That the City Clerk and the Finance Officer of the City of Redding be hereby directed to maintain available certified copies of this Resolution in their respective offices for inspection and review by any interested person or persons I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced at the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 5th day of December, 2017, and was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote: AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: McElvain, Sullivan,Weaver,Winter, & Schreder NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None ABSENT: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None ABSTAIN: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None i-er STEN S REDER, Mayor ATTEST: APPROVED TO FORM: PAMELA MIZE, i"t Clerk B . e ALT, City Attorney
