HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2017-063 - Storm Drainage Impact Fee RESOLUTION NO. 2017-063 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING AUTHORIZING THE SUSPENSION OF THE STORM DRAINAGE IMPACT FEE WHEREAS, City staff is undertaking an update of the City's Development Impact Fees; and WHEREAS, the Storm Drainage Impact Fee as described in Section 16.20.220 of the Redding Municipal Code, was established in 2000 with the intent of meeting storm drainage infrastructure needs resulting from development in the City of Redding; and WHEREAS, staff is currently updating the Storm Drain Masterplan to better manage the utility in the changing regulatory environment of storm water management in California; and WHERAS, it is appropriate that, pending the completion of this masterplan and the related development of an updated impact fee nexus study, the existing Storm Drainage Impact Fee be suspended; and WHERAS, Staff has planned and programmed storm drainage capacity related projects that will exhaust the funds remaining in the Storm Drain Impact Fee account balance; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT 1. The City Council of the City of Redding finds that the recitals set forth above are true and correct. 2. The public interest is best met by suspending the Storm Drainage Impact Fee.
