RESOLUTION NO. 2000- /10
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDDING REQUESTING FUNDS FROM THE STATE
DEPARTMENT OF BOATING AND WATERWAYS FOR THE
RENOVATION AND REDEVELOPMENT OF A BOAT
LAUNCHING FACILITY AT LAKE REDDING PARK.
WHEREAS, the City of Redding is desirous of completing a major renovation and
reconstruction of a boat launching facility at Lake Redding Park to meet the needs of boaters and to
provide safe public access to the Sacramento River; and
WHEREAS,the project site is owned by the City and is operated and maintained by the City
of Redding; and
WHEREAS,the reconstruction of this boat launching facility will not be detrimental to the
operations of private boating businesses in the area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redding has provided a forum for comments, and it has been
determined that the proposed improvements are needed to provide the public with adequate access
to this area of the Sacramento River; and
WHEREAS,the City of Redding will conduct a feasibility report which shows the proposed
project to be financially feasible and economically justified; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redding is willing to enter into an agreement whereby the City is
to provide for the operation and maintenance of the proposed facility at no cost to the state;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding
hereby requests that the State Department of Boating and Waterways provide the sum of
$700,000.00 for the purpose of reconstructing a free public use boat launching facility at Lake
Redding Park.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Redding agrees to accept the sum of
$700,000.00 and hereby appoints the City Manager as agent of the City to conduct all negotiations, �1

and to execute and submit all documents, including, but not limited to, applications, agreements,
amendments, billing statements, and so on, which may be necessary for the completion of the
aforementioned project.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read and adopted at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 7th day of November ,2000,
by the following vote:
