HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2000-167 - Energy Efficiency Loan RESOLUTION NO. 2000 - j 4, 1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING AUTHORIZING THE CITY, THROUGH ITS ELECTRIC UTILITY, TO APPLY FOR AN ENERGY- EFFICIENCY LOAN FROM THE CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION FOR REDDING'S COMMUNITY ENERGY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT. WHEREAS,the California Energy Commission(CEC)provides loans to schools,hospitals, local governments, special districts, and public-care institutions to finance energy-efficiency improvements. IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding that: 1. The Council authorizes the City of Redding, through its Electric Utility, to apply for an energy-efficiency loan from the CEC to implement energy-efficiency measures. 2. If recommended for funding by the CEC, the Council authorizes the Electric Utility accept a loan,on behalf of the City of Redding,of up to$250,000 for Redding's Community Energy Improvement Project. 3. The amount of the loan will be paid in full,plus interest,under the terms and conditions of the Loan Agreement and Promissory Note of the CEC. 4. The Electric Utility Director is authorized to execute the name of the Electric Utility on all necessary documents to implement and carry out the purpose of this resolution, and to undertake all actions necessary to undertake and complete the energy-efficiency projects; and the City Clerk is directed to attest his signature on the appropriate documentation.
