RESOLUTION NO. 2000- /(y,' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL 0 F THE CITY OF REDDING ORDERING THE JUDICIAL FORECLOSURE OF DELINQUENT BOND ASSESSMENTS PURSUANT TO THE IMPROVEMENT BOND ACT OF 1915, AND ORDERING THAT THE TAX COLLECTOR BE CREDITED WITH THOSE ASSESSMENTS WHICH ARE THE SUBJECT OF A FORECLOSURE ACTION. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding,pursuant to the provisions of section 8830 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, that: 1. The City Council orders the delinquent assessments listed on Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof, and all future installments thereof which are not paid when due,to be collected by actions to be brought in the Superior Court of Shasta County to foreclose the liens thereof. 2. The City Attorney is authorized and directed to institute such actions in the name of the City of Redding to foreclose the liens of all such delinquent assessments. 3. The City Treasurer, in cooperation and conjunction with the City Attorney, is directed to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the Shasta County Auditor Controller with a letter stating that: (a) The City Council has ordered that the delinquent installments be collected by actions to be brought in the Superior Court of Shasta County to foreclose the liens thereof; (b) Pursuant to Streets and Highways Code section 8833, upon the filing of a foreclosure action,the Shasta County Tax Collector is to be credited upon the assessment rolls then is his hands with the amounts charged against him on account of the assessments which are the subject of each foreclosure action, and he shall be relieved of further duty in regard thereto; and (c) All inquiries regarding payment of the delinquent assessments shall be forwarded to the City Treasurer. 4. With respect to Exhibit A, the City Treasurer is further directed to execute the attached Notice of Intent to Remove Delinquent Assessment Installments from the Tax Rolls, to be recorded by the City Clerk in the office of the Shasta County Recorder for each parcel identified in a judicial foreclosure action.
