A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDDING REQUESTING FUNDS FROM THE STATE WILDLIFE
CONSERVATION BOARD FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF A
BOAT LAUNCHING FACILITY ON THE SACRAMENTO RIVER
AT TURTLE BAY.
WHEREAS:
A. The City of Redding (City) is desirous of reconstructing a fishing access at the Turtle Bay boat
ramp to meet the needs of fishing persons and boaters on the Sacramento River;
B. The project site is owned, operated and maintained by the City;
C. The State Wildlife Conservation Board is authorized to provide funds for fishing access;
D. The improvement of the fishing access to the Sacramento River will not be detrimental to the
operations of private fishing and boating businesses in the area;
E. The City has provided a forum for comments, and it has been determined that the proposed
improvements are needed to provide the public with adequate fishing access to this area of the Sacramento
River;
F. The City will conduct a feasibility report which shows the proposed project to be financially
feasible and economically justified; and
G. The City is willing to enter into an agreement whereby the City is to provide for the maintenance
of the proposed fishing access at no cost to the State;
NOW,THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding:
1. Requests the State Wildlife Conservation Board to provide funding for the purpose of reconstructing and
renovating the fishing access to the area of the Sacramento River at Turtle Bay;and agrees to accept the
funding.
2. Appoints the City Manager as agent of the City to conduct all negotiations and execute and submit all
documents,including,but not limited to,applications,agreements,amendments,billing statements,and
so on, which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned project.
3. Directs the City Clerk to attest the signature of the City Manager and affix the seal of the City to the
appropriate documents.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read and adopted at a regular
meeting of the City Council on the 19th day olfSeptember, 2000, by the following vote:
