RESOLUTION NO. 2000-Z$
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
AUTHORIZING THE RECEIPT OF ADDITIONAL FEDERAL AND STATE
GRANT FUNDS,AND APPROVING THE CITY'S 5.5% MATCHING SHARE
OF $2,358.00, FOR THE FOLLOWING CAPITAL PROJECTS AT BENTON
AIRPARK:
CONSTRUCT/IMPROVE WESTSIDE ACCESS ROAD,
SECURITY GATE AND FENCE IMPROVEMENTS; AND
COMPLETE RUNWAY 15/33 SAFETY ANALYSISYSTUDY.
WHEREAS:
1. Pursuant to Resolutions 99-75 and 99-156 adopted by the City Council,the City has
received FAA Airport Improvement Program Grant funds in the amount of$97,750 and State
of California Division of Aeronautics Grant funds in the amount of$4,887; and approved the
City's share of matching funds in the amount of$5,974 to be paid from the Airports Division
operating budget.
2. Subsequent to entering into grant agreements with said Federal and State Agencies
for the aforesaid funds, the Agencies have paid the City additional grant funds for the Projects,
increasing the total funds available from $108,611 to $151,485 [an increase of$42,874].
3. With respect to the additional funding in the amount of$42,874.00, the City has
received 90% or $38,587 from FAA Airport Improvement Program Grant funds. Of the
required 10%match,the City has received 4.5%or$1,929 from the State of California Division
of Aeronautics, leaving the balance of 5.5%or$2,358 to be paid by the City out of the Airports
Division operating budget.
4. The Airports Manager has recommended that the City Council approve the City's
matching 5.5% share of$2,358.
NOW,THEREFORE,IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Redding:
A. Ratifies and approves receipt of the additional Federal grant funds in the amount of
$38,587 and State grant funds in the amount of$1,929 referenced in paragraph 3 above. The
total funding for the Benton Airpark Projects is set forth in Exhibit A attached and made a part
hereof.
B. Approves the City's share of additional matching funds of 5.5%or$2,358 to be paid
out of the Airports Division operating budget.

C. Authorizes the City Manager to execute all necessary application forms and
acceptances of the additional funding; and the City Clerk is directed to attest the signature of
the City Manager and affix the seal of the City to the documentation, when appropriate.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read and adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 15th day of February2000, by the following
vote:
