A RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF REDDING REQUESTING THE
LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION TO INITIATE
PROCEEDINGS FOR THE REORGANIZATION OF TERRITORY
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding that,
WHEREAS, the City of Redding desires to initiate proceedings pursuant to the Cortese-Knox Local
Government Reorganization Act of 1985, commencing with Section 56000 of the California Government
Code, for a reorganization which would concurrently annex territory to the City of Redding, detach territory
from County Service Area No. 15 — Street Lighting, and detach territory from Council Service Area
No 1 —Fire Protection; and
WHEREAS, the principal reason for the proposed annexation is to obtain City services; and,
WHEREAS, the following agency or agencies would be affected by the proposed jurisdictional
changes:
Agency Nature of Change
City of Redding Annexation
County Service Area No. 15 — Street Lighting Detachment
County Service Area No. 1 —Fire Protection Detachment
and,
WHEREAS,the territory proposed to be reorganized, Annexation No. 99-5, Tarmac/Abernathy is
Uninhabited and a map and description of the boundaries of the territory are attached hereto as Exhibit "A"
and "B" and by this reference incorporated herein; and,
WHEREAS, it is desired to provide that the proposed reorganization be subject to the following
terms and conditions: None; and,
WHEREAS, this proposal is consistent with the adopted spheres of influence for all the agencies
which would be affected by reorganization; and,
WHEREAS, this Council has determined that this resolution may be adopted without a notice of
intention and public hearing pursuant to Government Code Section 56800.
NOW,THEREFORE, this Resolution of Application is hereby adopted and approved by the City
Council of the City of Redding and the Local Agency Formation Commission of Shasta County and is hereby
requested to take proceedings for the annexation of territory as authorized and in the manner provided by
the Cortese-Know Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985.

All that real property situate in the County of Shasta, State of California being a portion of the
Northwest one-quarter and the Southwest one-quarter of Section 3, T.31 N., R.4W., M.D.B.&M.
more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of the Northeast one-quarter of the Southwest one-quarter of
the Southwest one-quarter of the Northwest one-quarter of said Section 3, thence along the East

R.4 W., M.D.B.&M. Beginning at a point that bears North 89° 10' 44" West 26.50 feet from the
South one-quarter corner of said Section 34, thence; on and along the South line of said Section
34, North 89° 10' 44" West, 1296.45 feet to the Southwest corner of the East one-half of the
Southwest one-quarter of said Section 34, thence; on and along the West line of said East one-
half, North 0° 53'45"West, 446.89 feet,thence; South 89° 10'44" East, 1124.86 feet to the West
line of the parcel described in the deed to Sam Butcher, et ux., recorded in the office of the County
Recorder October 13, 1959,in Book 614 of Official Records at Page 335,Shasta County Records,
