A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
ACCEPTING FUNDS FROM THE COMMUNITY GRANTS PROGRAM TO
IMPLEMENT PROGRAMS AIMED AT THE PREVENTION OF SUBSTANCE
ABUSE AND FAMILY VIOLENCE IN THE MARTIN LUTHER KING
NEIGHBORHOOD
WHEREAS, the City has successfully collaborated with other community service
organizations in a grant application to the Shasta County Health Improvement Partnership;
and
WHEREAS, adults and youth of the Martin Luther King neighborhood will benefit
by the convenience and availability of services to be provided at the Martin Luther King
Center; and
WHEREAS, the Martin Luther King Center serves as an important resource center
in this neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the addition of these programs will enhance the existing efforts of the
Martin Luther King Center; and
WHEREAS, grant funding is available to provide for the full cost of such
enhancements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Redding agrees to accept
the sum of $50,000 and hereby appoints the Recreation Superintendent as agent to the
City to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including, but not
limited to, applications, agreements, amendments, billing statements, and so on, which
may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned project.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was introduced and read at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 4th day of Jan , 2000,
and was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
