A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE MAILED BALLOT SPECIAL
ELECTION, ABERNATHY LANE ANNEXATION AN-1-00, HELD IN THE
CITY OF REDDING ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
WHEREAS, a Mailed Ballot Special Election was duly held in the City of Redding on
the l l th day of September 2001, on the following m easure:
"Shall the order adopted on May 1,2001,by the Redding City Council, ordering
the annexation to the City of Redding of the territory described in that order and
designated as "Annexation AN-1-00, Abernathy Lane,"be confirmed?"
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Redding, as the elections official, has
canvassed the returns of the election pursuant to law;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
RESOLVES AND DECLARES AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the total number of electors who voted was twelve (12), and the total number
of votes cast in favor of annexation was two (2).
2. That the total number of electors who voted was twelve(12), and the total number of
votes cast in opposition of annexation was ten (10).
3. That sufficient majority protest exists to order termination of these annexation
proceedings in accordance with the California Government Code commencing with Section
57000 et seq., and it is so ordered.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read and adopted
at a regular meeting of the City council of the City of Redding on the 18`h day of September,
2001, by the following vote:
AYES: Council Members: Cibula, Kight, Pohlmeyer, Stegall and McGeorge
NOES: Council Members: None
ABSTAIN: Council Members: None
ABSENT: Council Members: None
