A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
ADOPTING A NEGATIVE DECLARATION AND AMENDMENTS
TO THE REDDING GENERAL PLAN
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted the General Plan on October 3, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the General Plan Diagram to implement General
Plan policies intended to facilitate infill development; and
WHEREAS,the Planning Commission has reviewed the Initial Study prepared in accordance with
the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act and recommended preparation of a
Negative Declaration; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a duly noticed public hearing pertaining to said
amendments on June 26, 2001, and recommended that the City Council adopt amendments to the
General Plan Diagram as described on the attached Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, in order to ensure full and complete compliance with the
development policies contained in the General Plan, has determined that Planned Development
zoning of the property is appropriate; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a duly noticed public hearing on the matter, said hearing held
on July 17, 2001;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of the City of Redding California,
as follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The City Council hereby finds that the amendment of the General Plan Diagram will not,under
the circumstances of the particular case, be detrimental to the health, safety, peace, morals,
comfort, and general welfare of persons residing or working in the neighborhood or be
detrimental or injurious to property or improvements in the neighborhood or to the general
welfare of the City.
3. The City Council has reviewed the proposed Negative Declaration and has determined that the
actions contemplated will not have an adverse impact on the environment.
4. The City Council hereby adopts the Negative Declaration and amends the General Plan
Diagram to "Residential, 6 to 10 units per acre" as depicted on Exhibit "A."

5. The City Council directs that the zoning of the property include a"PD"Planned Development
Overlay designation. Said zoning is to be established concurrent with,or prior to approval of,
any development applications on said property.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was introduced and read at a regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 21st day of August, 2001 and was fully
adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: Kight, Pohlmeyer, Stegall and McGeorge
NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None
ABSTAIN: COUNCIL MEMBERS: Cibula
