RESOLUTION NO.2001-10
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A FEDERAL GRANT APPLICATION FOR
ENTITLEMENT AND DISCRETIONARY AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT
PROGRAM(AIP)GRANT MONIES TO ACCOMPLISH CAPITAL PROJECTS
AT REDDING MUNICIPAL AIRPORT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE APPLICATION AND ALL SUBSEQUENT
DOCUMENTATION TO OBTAIN FAA GRANT MONIES AND MATCHING
FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the FAA District Office has recommended that an application for unencumbered
Airport Improvement Program (AIP) Entitlement and Discretionary Grant Funds be submitted as soon as
possible; and
WHEREAS,there is a significant need to reconstruct the main runway (16/34), including runway
shoulders and blast pads,rehabilitate Taxiways"C,""D"and"E,"reconstruct the General Aviation Ramp
and perform safety enhancements to safety area of Runway 34; and
WHEREAS,the total cost of the Project is estimated at$5,017,669,of which 90 percent is eligible
for the aforementioned AIP entitlement and discretionary funds,and approximately 10 percent of which is
eligible for funding by Passenger Facility Charges; and
WHEREAS,the Airports Manager has recommended that the City apply for a U.S.Department of
Transportation,Federal Aviation Administration,AIP Grant in the amount of$4,515,902 to accomplish the
project program as outlined in Exhibit"A"a true copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein
and to obtain the matching Passenger Facility Charges in the amount of$501,767; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Redding that a Federal AIP Grant be acquired;
and
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that for the projects outlined in Exhibit"A"the City
Council of the City of Redding hereby authorizes:
1. The filing of an application for an FAA Airport Improvement Program (AIP) Entitlement and
Discretionary Grant in the amount of$4,515,902; and the utilization of Passenger Facility Charges in the
amount of$501,767;

2. The City Manag..., on behalf of the City of Redding, to execute the FAA Application form,
including the Acceptance of the Grant/Offer,to obtain the necessary FAA funding to complete the project
as identified in Exhibit"A", and
3. The City Clerk to attest the signature of the City Manager,and to impress the official seal of the
City of Redding on the aforesaid documentation,when appropriate.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read and adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Council on the 16th day of January 2001, by the following vote:
