RESOLUTION NO. 2002- a 7
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDDING AMENDING THE SOLID WASTE UTILITY RATE
SCHEDULE [EFFECTIVE JULY 1ST OF THE YEARS 1999
THROUGH 2003].
WHEREAS:
A. On May 3, 1999, by Resolution 99-67, the City Council adopted new Solid Waste
Utility Rates and Charges effective July 1st of the years 1999 through 2003.
B. Further changes, updates and clarifications were made to the Rate Schedule by the
Redding City Council on the following dates:

1999-84 June 15, 1999 Added rates for large loads; scrap metals, and
auctioned goods
1999-133 October 5, 1999 Adjust rates for six-yard containers and
clarification on off-street collection
2000-115 June 20, 2000 Electronic waste charges
2001-122 July 17, 2001 Adjusted fee related to automation of green
waste and recycling, contamination, duplicate
receipts,rounding off, etc.
C. The City Council desires to further modify and clarify Section L. (1) of the Solid
Waste Utility Rate Schedule to include a minimum charge for weighed loads of self-
hauled waste and green waste equivalent to the lowest volume charge(mini-pickup
load—minimum to level) and to limit the per-bag or can charge to a maximum of
three containers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby modifies and
clarifies Section L. (1) of the Solid Waste Utility Rate Schedule by incorporating the following
language:

"The charge for bags and waste cans is limited to a maximum of three containers per
customer. Customers with loads containing more than three bags or cans shall be
charged the same rate as the Minimum to Level Load rate for a mini-pickup."
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read and adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Council on the 17`h day of September, 2002, by the following vote:
