A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDDING APPROVING ENTERING
INTO A MASTER LEASE-PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH OSHKOSH
CAPITAL IN THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF$550,281.51 FOR AN AERIAL
LADDER TRUCK FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS,the City of Redding,a Municipal Corporation("City"),is duly organized and
existing pursuant to the Constitution and laws of the State of California; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to applicable law,the City Council is authorized to acquire,dispose
of and encumber real and personal property, including, without limitation, rights and interest in
property, leases and easements necessary to the functions or operations of the City of Redding; and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds and determines that the execution of a Master
Lease-Purchase Agreement ("Lease") in the principal amount not exceeding $550,281.51 for the
purpose of acquiring the property("Equipment")described in the Lease is appropriate and necessary
to the functions and operations of the City; and
WHEREAS, Oshkosh Capital ("Lessor") shall act as Lessor under said Lease;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Redding, as follows:
1. The City Manager,acting on behalf of the City Council of the City of Redding,is hereby
authorized to negotiate, enter into, execute upon approval as to form by the City Attorney, and
deliver the Lease in substantially the form set forth in the document presently before the City
Council, which document is available for public inspection at the City Clerk's Office. The City
Manager, acting on behalf of the City, is hereby authorized to negotiate, enter into, execute, and
deliver such other documents relating to the Lease as the City Manager deems necessary and
appropriate. All other related contracts and agreements necessary and incidental to the Lease are
hereby authorized.
2. By a written instrument signed by the Mayor on behalf of the City Council of the City
of Redding,the City Council may designate specifically identified officers or employees of the City
to execute and deliver agreements and documents relating to the Lease on behalf of the City.
3. The aggregate original principal amount of the Lease shall not exceed the amount stated
above and shall bear interest as set forth in the Lease, and the Lease shall contain such option to
purchase by the City as set forth therein.

4. The City's obligations under the Lease shall be subject to annual appropriation or
renewal by the City Council as set forth in the Lease,and the City's obligations under the Lease shall
not constitute general obligations of the City or indebtedness under the Constitution or laws of the
State.
5. This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read and adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 16th day of April, 2002, by the
following vote.

or altered and is in full force and effect as of this date.
