A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
AUTHORIZING TRANSMITTAL OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL
DOCUMENTATION PREPARED FOR THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN
AMENDMENT FOR THE MARKET STREET REDEVELOPMENT
PROJECT AREA
WHEREAS, pursuant to the California Community Redevelopment Law (Health &
Safety Code Section 33000 et seq.) and to direction by the Redding Redevelopment Agency (the
"Agency"), staff and consultants have prepared the Redevelopment Plan Amendment for the
Market Street Redevelopment Project Area (the "Plan Amendment"); and
WHEREAS, staff has reviewed the Plan Amendment and has determined that the Plan
Amendment is not subject to the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") and has
prepared a CEQA Notice of Exemption which describes the rationale for such determination; and
WHEREAS, by resolution adopted on February 19, 2002, the City Council of the City of
Redding (the "City Council") designated the City of Redding as the Lead Agency under the
California Environmental Quality Act for the preparation of environmental documents for the
Plan Amendment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding
that the City Council, as Lead Agency, hereby authorizes and directs staff to distribute the
proposed Notice of Exemption to all affected taxing entities and any other interested persons and
entities as required by law.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read, and adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 16th day of April 2002 by the following vote:
