A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDDING AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A FEDERAL GRANT
APPLICATION FOR ENTITLEMENT AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT
PROGRAM (AIP) GRANT MONIES TO ACCOMPLISH CAPITAL
PROJECTS AT BENTON AIRPARK AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE APPLICATION AND ALL SUBSE-
QUENT DOCUMENTATION TO OBTAIN FAA AND STATE GRANT
MONIES AND MATCHING FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the FAA District Office has recommended that an application for
unencumbered Airport Improvement Program (AIP) Entitlement Grant Funds be submitted
as soon as possible; and
WHEREAS, there is a significant need to perform numerous security enhance-
ments; and
WHEREAS, the total cost of the Project is estimated at $283,333, of which 90
percent is eligible for the aforementioned AIP entitlement funds, and approximately 4.5
percent of which is eligible for funding through a State of California grant; and
WHEREAS, the Airports Manager has recommended that the City apply for a U.S.
Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, AIP Grant in the amount
of$255,000 to accomplish the project program as outlined in Exhibit "A", a true copy of
which is attached hereto and incorporated herein and to obtain matching State of California
Grant Funds in the amount of$12,750; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Redding that a Federal AIP
Grant be acquired; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that for the projects outlined in
Exhibit "A" the City Council of the City of Redding hereby authorizes:
AMENDED BY RESOLUTION NO. 2003-187
1. The filing of an application for an FAA Airport Improvement Program (AIP)

Entitlement Grant in the amount of $255,000; and the utilization of State of California
Grant Funds in the amount of$12,750;
2. The City Manager, on behalf of the City of Redding, to execute the FAA
Application form, including the Acceptance of the Grant/Offer, to obtain the necessary
FAA and State funding to complete the project as identified in Exhibit"A"; and
3. The City Clerk to attest the signature of the City Manager, and to impress the
official seal of the City of Redding on the aforesaid documentation, when appropriate.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 2nd day of April 2002, by the
following vote:

NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None
