A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
AUTHORIZING I'HE SUBMITTAL OF A USED MOTOR OIL RECYCLING
BLOCK GRANT-EIGHTH CYCLE-APPLICATION FOR A MULTIPLE-
YEAR APPLICATION TO THE CALIFORNIA INTEGRATED WASTE
MANAGEMENT BOARD.
WHEREAS,the People of the State of California have enacted the California Oil Recycling Enhancement
Act that provides funds to cities and counties for establishing and maintaining local used motor oil
collection programs that encourage recycling or appropriate disposal of used motor oil; and
WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Board (Waste Board)has been delegated the
responsibility for administration ofthe program within the state,setting up necessary procedures governing
grant applications by cities and counties under the program; and
WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into an agreement with the State of California for implementation of
a Used Motor Oil Collection and Recycling Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Redding
authorizes the submittal of an application to the California Integrated Waste Management Board for a
three-year Used Motor Oil Recycling Block Grant-Eighth Cycle. The City Manager, or his designee, is
hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name ofthe City of Redding all necessary applications,
contracts, payment requests, agreements and amendments hereto for the purposes of securing grant funds
and to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the grant application.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read and adopted at a regular
meeting of the City Council on the 19th day of March , 2002 by the following vote:
