A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING TO
IDENTIFY EACH OF THE REDDING FIRE STATIONS AS SAFE
SURRENDER SITES
WHEREAS, California Health and Safety (HS) Code 1255.7 has been established to prevent harm
or death to infants three days old or younger by identifying Safe Surrender sites; and
WHEREAS, Redding firefighters shall meet the training and administrative requirements of
California HS Code 1255.7; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redding shall work with the Shasta County Health and Human Services
Agency and the County Child Welfare Agency, to ensure compliance with the expectations of this
law.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED THAT, the City Council of the City of Redding hereby
designates the following Redding fire stations as Safe Surrender sites:
Fire Station 1: 1335 Shasta Street
Fire Station 2: 3491 Placer Street
Fire Station 3: 4255 Westside Road
Fire Station 4: 2605 S. Bonnyview Road
Fire Station 5: 955 Hartnell Avenue
Fire Station 6: 1695 Beltline Road
Fire Station 7: 3772 Flight Avenue
Fire Station 8: 131 Churn Creek Road
This resolution shall take effect on May 1, 2017, upon its adoption by the City Council.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read and adopted at a regular
meeting of the Redding City Council on the 7th day of February, 2017, by the following vote:
