HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2016-123 - Missy McArthur Ae oF aFo RESOLUTION NO. 2016-123 ua A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY • • OF REDDING COMMENDING AND HONORING 47. /PoMISSY MCARTHUR FOR SERVICE TO THE CITY OF REDDING WHEREAS, Missy McArthur has served as a member of the Redding City Council from December 2, 2008, to December 6, 2016, providing eight years of dedicated service to the community; and WHEREAS, during her tenure, Missy McArthur served as Mayor from December 7, 2010, to December 6, 2011; and December 1, 2015, to December 6, 2016; and WHEREAS, Missy McArthur served her community in many ways, not only as Mayor and City Council Member, but also as the City Council liaison to the following: Air Pollution Control Board; Audit Committee; Community Development Advisory Committee; Development Services Department; Downtown Collaborative; Economic Development Corporation; Finance Department; Fire Department; Indian Gaming Local Community Benefit Committee; League of California Cities; Local Agency Formation Commission; McConnell Foundation; Northern Sacramento Valley Integrated Regional Water Management Governance Board; Planning Commission; Public Works Department; Redding Area Water Council-Policy Advisory Committee; Sacramento Valley Basinwide Air Pollution Control Council; Shasta County Arts Council (Public Access TV); Shasta Regional Transportation Agency; Turtle Bay Museum & Arboretum; and the following City Agencies: Shasta Public Library Citizens' Advisory Committee; Redding Area Bus Authority; Redding Capital Services Corporation; Redding Housing Authority; Redding Joint Powers Financing Authority; Redding Municipal Library Board; Redding Redevelopment Agency; and Successor Agency to the Redding Redevelopment Agency; and WHEREAS, Missy McArthur has provided support and leadership during the formulation, construction and/or completion phases of the following projects and successes: • Cypress Avenue Bridge • Unit 6 at Redding Power Plant • John Reginato Boat Ramp • Turtle Bay East • Palisades Trail • Redding Municipal Airport Terminal Renovation • Police Facility WHEREAS, Missy McArthur has executed the role of City Council Member and Mayor with pride and integrity. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding commends a woman who has dedicated countless hours to serve our community.
