A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
ADOPTING A MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION AND
MITIGATION MONITORING PROGRAM, AND APPROVING THE OLD
ALTURAS ROAD AND CHURN CREEK BRIDGE REHABILITATION
PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Redding, as lead agency for the Old Alturas Road and Churn Creek
Bridge Rehabilitation Project (Project), has conducted the following environmental review for
the proposed Project:
1. Environmental studies were conducted and summarized in an Initial Study dated
October 18, 2016; and
2. A proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) was circulated for review and
comment at the State Clearinghouse from October 20 to November 18, 2016, and with
the Shasta County Clerk from October 27 to November 28, 2016; and
3. There were no substantive public comments that could not be addressed during the
public comment period; and
WHEREAS, the MND identified potential significant environmental impacts which have been
reduced to a less than significant level by incorporation of mitigation measures into the Project;
and
WHEREAS, a Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program has been written as required by
the California Environmental Quality Act and is attached to the MND;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding, based
upon the entire record of environmental review for the Old Alturas Road and Churn Creek
Bridge Rehabilitation Project, hereby adopts the Mitigated Negative Declaration and Mitigation
and Monitoring Program, and approves the project as described.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced and read at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 6th day of December, 2016, and was
duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
