A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
APPROVING AND ADOPTING AN AMENDED "APPENDIX A" AND
"APPENDIX B" TO THE CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE FOR
DESIGNATED POSITIONS OF THE CITY AND THE AGENCIES AND
ENTITIES FOR WHICH THE CITY SERVES AS CODE REVIEWING
BODY, PURSUANT TO THE POLITICAL REFORM ACT OF 1974
WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of California enacted the Political Reform Act
of 1974, Government Code Section 8100, et seq. (the "Act"), which contains provisions relating
to conflicts of interest which potentially affect all officers, employees and consultants of the City
of Redding (the "City"), and which requires all public agencies to adopt and promulgate a
conflict of interest code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a Conflict of Interest Code (the "Code"), which
was last amended on December 1, 2015, in compliance with the Act; and
WHEREAS, subsequent changed circumstances within the City have made it advisable
and necessary to amend and update the Appendix to the City's Code pursuant to Sections 87306
and 87307 of the Act; and
WHEREAS, the potential penalties for violation of the provisions of the Act are
substantial and may include criminal and civil liability, as well as equitable relief which could
result in the City being restrained or prevented from acting in cases where the provisions of the
Act may have been violated; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2426, adopted on December 16, 2008, ordained that
Redding Municipal Code Title 2, Chapter 2.90 - Conflict of Interest for Designated Positions of
the City, Section 2.90.020, Appendix A and Appendix B be periodically updated by resolution of
the City Council and shall constitute the Conflict Interest Code of the City and for each agency
for which the City serves as the Code Reviewing Body.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council that
"Appendix A" and "Appendix B" of the City's Conflict of Interest Code be amended, as attached
and made a part hereof by reference, to accurately reflect designated positions and disclosure C
categories within the City's jurisdiction. 6

property owned or used by the City of Redding or it's related agencies, whether inthe City
or not.
