LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICTS
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
(1) CONFIRMING THE MAPS OF THE ASSESSMENT DISTRICTS
CONTAINED IN THE ENGINEER'S REPORTS ON FILE WITH THE
CITY CLERK.
(2) CONFIRMING THE ANNUAL ASSESSMENTS AND ORDERING THE
LEVY AMOUNTS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2016-17 PURSUANT TO THE
LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING ACT OF 1972, COMMENCING WITH
SECTION 22500 OF THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE.
(3) ORDER THE DETACHMENT OF HIGHLAND OAKS SUBDIVSION
UNITS 1, 2 & 3 (LMD 02-16), WESTERN ACRES SUBDIVSION UNIT 1
(LMD 02-16), LA RINCONADA ESTATES UNITS 1 & 2 (LMD 02-16) AND
QUAIL RIDGE ESTATES UNITS 4, 5, 7 & 8 FROM LMD-A PURSUANT
TO THE LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING ACT OF 1972, §22605 OF THE
STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE
WHEREAS:
A. On June 21, 2016, by Resolution 2016-066, the City Council (Council) approved the
Reports of the Engineer as filed with the City Clerk relating to the Landscape Maintenance
Districts outlined in the table below and gave notice of the time and place of the July 19,
2016, public hearing regarding the levy and collection of assessments for Fiscal Year 2016-
17.
B. A general location of each District is included in the table below, and maps of these
Districts are attached to the Engineer's Reports on file with the City Clerk.
C. The public hearing, duly and properly noticed, commenced at the City Council Chambers,
777 Cypress Avenue, Redding, California on July 19, 2016, and was concluded prior to the
adoption of this resolution. At the public hearing, the Council gave every interested person
an opportunity to object to the proposed assessments.
D. All legal prerequisites to the adoption of this resolution have occurred.
THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL FINDS, RESOLVES, DETERMINES, AND
ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:

1. The matters set forth above are true and correct.

2. The maps of the assessment districts contained in the Engineer's Reports are confirmed.

3. The Council has considered all oral statements and written protests or communications
made or filed by interested persons at the public hearing of July 19, 2016, and expressly
overrules any and all protests filed objecting to the proposed annual assessments and levy
amounts in the Districts.
4. The Council finds that the Engineer's Reports have fairly and properly apportioned the
costs of the improvements to each developable lot, remaining parcel, or assessable acre of
land in the districts in proportion to the estimated benefits to be received by each
developable lot, remaining parcel, or assessable acre from the improvements.
5. The assessments against each developable lot or remaining parcel located within the
Districts for Fiscal Year 2016-17 are confirmed, adopted, and levied as outlined in the table
below, except that an assessment shall not be levied on property owned by a federal or state
governmental agency or another local agency.
6. The City Clerk shall forthwith transfer to the Auditor Controller and the Assessor Recorder
of Shasta County a certified copy of this resolution and a certified copy of the assessment
district maps contained in the Engineer's Reports for the Landscape Maintenance Districts
outlined in the table below.
7. That the City Clerk gave notice of said hearing pursuant to the Streets and Highways Code
Section 22626(a).
8. Detachment of Highland Oaks Subdivision Units 1, 2 & 3 (LMD 02-16), Western Acres
Subdivision Unit 1 (LMD 02-16), La Rinconada Estates Units 1 & 2 (LMD 02-16) and
Quail Ridge Estates Units 4, 5, 7 & 8 from LMD-A are hereby ordered.
