HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2016-012 - Henderson RoadRESOLUTION NO. 2016-012 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING DECLARING LAND IDENTIFIED AS ASSESSOR'S PARCEL NUMBER 107-430-033 AND ASSESSOR'S PARCEL NUMBER 201-500-023 AS SURPLUS PROPERTY AND APPROVING THE DISPOSITION OF SAID PROPERTY WHEREAS, the City holds fee title to land located near Henderson Road and identified as Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) 107-430-033 and APN 201-500-023 (Property); and WHEREAS, the City of Redding and the City of Redding as the Successor Agency to the Redding Redevelopment Agency have negotiated a Non -Binding Letter of Intent with Dignity Health to sell the Property in order to facilitate the development of a new Wellness Center; and WHEREAS, Section 54222 of the Government Code requires that the City, prior to disposing of surplus land, send to public entities a written offer to sell or lease the property as follows: for the purpose of developing low- and moderate -income housing; for park and recreational or open space purposes; for school facilities construction if the land is so suitable; for enterprise zone purposes if the land is located within a designated enterprise zone; or for the purpose of development within a designated infill opportunity zone established pursuant to Section 65088.4 of the Government Code; and NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council FINDS, RESOLVES, and ORDERS as follows: 1. The above recitals are true and correct. 2. The Property is hereby declared surplus. 3. Sale of the Property by the City is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15312 of the CEQA Guidelines (Surplus Government Property Sales). 4. The Property be offered for sale or lease as required by Government Code Section 54222.
