HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2016-010 - Mills Act Tax Abatement programRESOLUTION NO. 2016-010 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING ADOPTING AMENDMENTS TO COUNCIL POLICY 1808 REGARDING PARTICIPATION IN THE MILLS ACT HISTORIC PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT PROGRAM AND GUIDELINES FOR INCLUSION OF PROPERTY ON THE LOCAL REGISTER OF QUALIFIED AND CANDIDATE HISTORIC PROPERTIES WHEREAS, on June 3, 2008 the City Council introduced an ordinance adding Chapter 18.23 to the Redding Municipal Code, concerning Historic and Architectural Preservation, and at that time directed staff to return to Council with a policy describing implementation guidelines for local designation of historic properties; and WHEREAS, the City Council adopted City Council Policy 1808 to provide guidance on participation in the Mills Act Historic Property Tax Abatement and for including properties on the Local Register of the Qualified and Candidate Historic Properties; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide further guidance regarding CEQA compliance for properties identified on the Local Register of Candidate Historic Properties. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding that the attached amended City Council Policy 1808 titled "Participation in the Mills Act Historic Property Tax Abatement Program and Guidelines for Inclusion of Property on the Local Register of Qualified and Candidate Historic Properties" is hereby adopted.
